The Shirt. I have long been looking for that perfect white shirt. Soft cottony fabric, not too tight, and not too plungy. Found this. Not exactly perfect but does just fine. I'm still waiting for that H&M white tee to mysteriously appear in my closet!

EatOuts: Nita's Place

Location: Talisayan, Misamis Oriental
Date of Visit: August 1, 2010

July 31 was our anniversary. to up the celebration, E and I decided to go road tripping East of our town the next morning. Talisayan is about an hour and a half drive so we left half past nine. It was a sunday and E was in his usual chirpy behavior while driving :)

We arrived in Nita's Place in time for lunch and went directly to their pool of seafoods. As suggested by the resto, we opted for a chunk of barracuda for SuTuKil and half a kilo of prawns for adobo. STK for PHP240.00 and the shrimps for PHP160.00. Ain't that cheap? It can feed 3-4 persons already...But not with our appetite, i guess. We ordered a platter of rice and a litre of coke and, well, binged? Our total bill was only a little over 500 and we got to take out the tinola (we don't like to waste).

Nita's Place is very quaint. It looks like your ordinary karinderia except it's on stilts, the food is exceptional, and it's far far from the city buzz. Tourists come here for a quick seafood fix especially the ones going to Camiguin Island (it's only 5mins aways from Balingoan port) or travelling farther east.

We then had our dessert in Mantangale Alibuag Dive resort located nearby. It's highly suggested that you drop by here if you're not going anywhere but Nita's Place. it's quite far so might as well get your gas's worth. Entrance to the resort is PHP100(consumable) and you get to enjoy its view and isolation. It has white sand beach and offers the usual water sports. On our visit, we went kayaking for PHP400/hr.

The prices are there, start making your budget now :)

LookBook: Puffed-up

Dress: Kamiseta
Shoes: Prima Donna
Accesories: Julia's Closet for earrings and charm bracelet and Fossil for watch (men's)

The dress. i bought it in 2006 in Kamiseta of SM Cebu when i was living and working there. Priced at 1,4++. I dressed differently back then. I was more comfortable with jeans and shirts and the occasional shorts and denim micro mini skirt. but not dresses. So this white puffy dress was stored, borrowed(!!!), and never worn by me until a couple of months ago. i did try to wear it a dozen times, always remembering the price and must therefore get my due. only to take it off and pull on the usual jeans and shirts. when can i wear this again? it's bloody expensive.

LookBook: The Rookie

i'm very fascinated with clothes and accesories only lately. i mean, i have been years ago but was constricted by someone who felt otherwise. after the riddance, i felt inspired and all creative mixing and matching old and new clothes in my slightly cramped closet. my rewards are confidence and commendation by people whose opinion matter most.

since i've always thought about creating a thematic blog, why not create my own look book? in that way, i can pour out my shrills in writing and see how much i've progressed.

long overdued trip

Me: Kuya adto nata dabaw bah pra we'll get this over with and i'll stop bugging you na.
E: oo ky next year Bora na pud imo gusto.
Me: :D

pestering works! we're going to Davao tomorrow!

now, the all-important packing. When E told me he's bringing his trolley, i was shrieking inside. a trolley! ho-wow! I immediately asked him that we share space which he agreed, of course (maybe to avoid my lengthy itemization of the things i'll lug). a little earlier, he told me he's bringing 3(!) carriers. the trolley, backpack for his shoes and toiletries, and laptop bag. thanks to my space-sharing, he'll look like going on vacation for a year.

cappuccino vs latte

i am in caltext starmart to while away time. in their coffee house, i ordered cafe latte to the barista. unbusy as i am, i stood in the counter and watched as she made my coffee. grinding, brewing, foaming...i then asked that my latte be dabbed with cinnamon. the barista said, "kung butangan nko ni cya ug cinnamon mam ky cappuccino nani, dli na latte." taympa, unsa? that shook my only-enough-not-to-make-me-ignorant knowlegde of coffee. since when did cinnamon define wether your coffee is cappuccino or cafe latte?

according to my coffee vocabulary, thanks to starbucks leaflets, cappuccino is one part espresso and one part milk. cafe latte, on the other hand, is one part espresso and 2 parts milk. i opt for cafe latte at night as it has more milk then cappuccino, less caffeine to avoid the buzz in time for bed.

now, is my cafe latte that she just made really cafe latte? i bet she was hired, taught ONLY how to operate the espresso machine and voila! she gets to decide, according to her little understanding and elaborate imagination, what your coffee will be.

why bother with cafe latte to this barista. i can just order, "tall coffee please, whatever you fancy".

wake up call

5 a.m. that's usually the time i'm awaken by voices i thought are part of my dream. it's my father and mother talking over their coffee. this morning, i overheard them talk about a pack of instant coffee they bought a day before. mother talked about how she now buys coffee in store B as store A has increased from Php26.80 to Php26.90. father then blabs about how shameless store A is for increasing its price like that. they'd then create a pact and connive on despising store A. they talk about this with passion you'd think store A just committed a heinous crime.
